The The Professional Detectives and Investigators Association of India (TPDIA) provides a professional platform for individuals and organizations associated with private investigation, detective services, insurance investigation, claims investigation and related investigation activities in India.

TPDIA membership is generally valid for the calendar year from 1 January to 31 December. Members are required to renew their annual membership on or before 31 December for the following calendar year.
Membership becomes effective after the applicable membership amount, where applicable, has been received in the account of The Professional Detectives and Investigators Association of India (TPDIA).

Membership is personal to the approved member and is non-transferable from one individual to another.
The validity of membership for all membership categories is from 1 January to 31 December of each calendar year.
Annual membership should be renewed on or before 31 December for the subsequent calendar year.
New members applying on or after 1 July may be eligible for a reduced annual membership fee of 50%, subject to the applicable membership terms.
If applicable membership dues are not paid within the prescribed period, TPDIA may suspend or terminate the membership according to its membership rules.
Membership automatically expires at the end of the membership period if it is not renewed for the following calendar year.
Where online payment facilities are available, membership payments may be made through the payment methods provided on the official TPDIA website.
TPDIA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership where a member's conduct materially harms the interests or reputation of the association or is seriously inconsistent with its stated objectives, rules or professional standards.
Termination or expiry of membership does not automatically create a right to reimbursement of membership fees already paid, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
TPDIA is currently offering free membership for eligible detective agency representatives and investigation professionals during the applicable 2026 membership campaign.
According to the current membership announcement, detective agency agents are being provided a six-month opportunity to become members under the free-membership campaign. After the campaign period ends, free membership may no longer be available.
There are currently no membership charges under the applicable free-membership campaign through 31 December 2026, subject to eligibility and the terms announced by TPDIA.

The official portal provides facilities for reporting cybercrime and suspicious identifiers such as websites, WhatsApp numbers, Telegram handles, phone numbers, email IDs and social media URLs.
For cyber financial fraud, the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal advises immediate reporting through 1930.
Depending on the facts and evidence, conduct involving deception or dishonest inducement may also attract applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 318 on cheating. The exact legal provision applicable to a particular case depends on the facts and investigation by the competent authorities.
